    From games to books, there’s so much to share from my visit to Dragonmeet 2024.

    This year, I decided to focus on solo gaming, and Dragonmeet did not disappoint! I uncovered some amazing journaling RPGs that sparked my creativity. These games offer a unique, immersive experience, and help a person explore deep narratives and develop characters in solo play.

    But Dragonmeet wasn’t just about shopping and exploring new games—this was also my first time attending the seminars, which were really interesing. I learned about the history of dice and how history can be integrated into storytelling.

  • What Lurks In The Shadows Of Tal-Yool Ruins?

    Join me on this SoloDark adventure as my characters venture into the Tal-Yool ruins. This ancient site is cloaked in mystery, and my curious adventurers have been tasked with retrieving a hidden artifact.

    They must work together to survive, but how honest will they be with one another, and who will reveal the true reason behind their mission to the Tal-Yool ruins?

    Many who enter the ruins never return, yet treasure awaits within, so some say exploring is worth the risk. What secrets will my characters discover? Tune in to find out!

  • Rolling Up A Dungeon | Should I Leave This To Chance?

    In the latest episode of my SoloDark series, I’m creating my dungeon map. Since I’m both the GM and the player, I rely on randomisation to ensure the rooms and difficulty aren’t influenced by my own preferences.

    Some rolls turn out great, while others… we’d prefer not to talk about those! Neverthess, I prefer it that way, I’d happily take poor rolls than building a dungeon that fits my ideal and is biased.

    In the upcoming session, I’ll be putting my characters and the dungeon through their paces as I play through my SoloDark adventure. I’m excited to take you along on this journey through the mini Shadowdark world I’m shaping.

    I’ve put together a dynamic group of misfits who will take on a legendary Shadowdark quest—or at least as legendary as a level 1 adventure can get. Along the way, I’ll share my gaming insights and the resources I use as a solo player to develop compelling RPG character arcs and scenes.

  • So Much Prepping For SoloDark | Behind The Scenes VLOG 001

    Welcome to my first vlog, where I’m prepping for my SoloDark adventure. I spend hours crafting and preparing my videos, so I thought it would be fun to bring you along this time. In this vlog, I’ll be rearranging my desk, camera, and filming setup in preparation for my one-player Shadowdark adventure.

    I’ll also give you a tour of my office/studio, showing you how I write, create, and shoot my videos—along with the equipment I use. I plan to create more vlogs like this, so I hope you enjoy it!

  • Craft an Epic Character Backstory with a Solo D&D Adventure!

    I often use solo gameplay to develop a character’s backstory, but I also enjoy it as an activity in and of itself. This is probably due to its similarity to choose-your-own-adventure books, which I have fond memories of reading.

    I believe solo Dungeons & Dragons games are often underrated in the TTRPG community. While the roleplaying element can feel diminished when playing alone, the real advantage lies in the limitless potential for creativity—allowing you to craft your own unique story.

    People play solo games for various reasons, but I find them especially useful, and perhaps even practical, when preparing for a new game. If I have the time, I enjoy taking my character on a brief adventure before the campaign starts to establish a solid understanding of who they are.

    In this video, I’ll also introduce the Solo Adventurer’s Toolbox, a fantastic resource that guides you through running your own solo game.
