    I find playing a druid particularly enjoyable due to their deep connection with nature and access to a wide variety of powerful spells.

    For my homebrew Tudor campaign, which is designed for level 3 adventurers, I am building a level 3 druid who is part of a group tasked with rescuing Anne Boleyn from the Tower of London.

    While I may have included a few rare items in her equipment, they are integral to her backstory and character development, adding depth and significance to her role in the campaign!

  • Entering The Tower Of London | How To Write A Dungeons & Dragons Campaign

    In today’s video, I will be writing scene 3 of my Tudor homebrew game. The players have finally entered the tower and encountered Jonesy, a seasoned half-elf bard. Is he a friend or foe? Only the unfolding story will reveal the answer.

    As with my previous content, I will break down the process of writing this scene, focusing on the underlying structure I use. This analysis is designed to assist both experienced and novice Game Masters (GMs) or game writers in organising their ideas into a clear, structured document that can be easily followed.

    Since my game is set during the time of Anne Boleyn, you can also expect Tudor-inspired lore, along with some rich stock footage of the Tower of London. Enjoy!

  • The 6 Conflict Types That Work Best for DnD Backstories

    In this video, I analyse the six types of literary conflict and explain how they can be effectively applied when creating and developing Dungeons & Dragons characters.

    The six types of conflict are:

    • Character vs. Self
    • Character vs. Character
    • Character vs. Nature
    • Character vs. Technology
    • Character vs. Supernatural
    • Character vs. Society

    Understanding these conflict types is crucial for constructing a well-rounded character and guiding their story arc. This awareness allows for deeper roleplaying and more dynamic interactions in your campaigns.

    Exploring these various conflicts can also spark new ideas for your character’s development. For instance, you could assign each conflict type a number and roll to determine which conflict your character will face, offering an engaging way to drive narrative progression.

  • Rolling Up A Dungeon | Should I Leave This To Chance?

    In the latest episode of my SoloDark series, I’m creating my dungeon map. Since I’m both the GM and the player, I rely on randomisation to ensure the rooms and difficulty aren’t influenced by my own preferences.

    Some rolls turn out great, while others… we’d prefer not to talk about those! Neverthess, I prefer it that way, I’d happily take poor rolls than building a dungeon that fits my ideal and is biased.

    In the upcoming session, I’ll be putting my characters and the dungeon through their paces as I play through my SoloDark adventure. I’m excited to take you along on this journey through the mini Shadowdark world I’m shaping.
